Bike Lanes This is a picture looking North-easterly down Anapamu Street to the entrance of Santa Barbara High School at 7:45 AM on 27 October 2008. The backup ran past Olive Street to Laguna St. Notice the huge lack of bicycles. Now we have great comparisons of school rush hour, 20 minutes or so before the school rush, and pictures after the school rush. Almost zero bike use and devastating congestion because of the bulbouts and the islands put in the entrance to SB High School. According to local residents, it was never that bad before the entrance was changed.

Bike Lanes This is a picture looking back to Olive St. - 27 October 2008, at 7:45 AM. The backup ran past Olive Street to Laguna St. Notice the huge lack of bicycles. The creation of this backup is a CEQA VIOLATION! Intentional creation of obstructions that then create air, noise, and environment degradation. Now we have great comparisons of school rush hour, 20 minutes or so before the school rush, and pictures after the school rush. Almost zero bike use and devastating congestion because of the bulbouts and the islands put in the entrance to SB High School. Frequent commuters know that it was never that bad before the entrance was changed by the City.

Bike Lanes This is a picture looking south on State St. at Constance approximately 5:20 PM mid week. This should be the best time for bike use since it was a beautiful day 23 Oct. Notice the huge lack of bicycles during rush hour traffic.

Bike Lanes This is a picture looking down away from Constance Notice the huge lack of bicycles. Ok what I have tried to do with the pictures is create a snap shot of traffic in downtown, and out on the two most important bike routes on the north side of the city. We have morning pictures, noon time pictures and evening pictures.

Bike Lanes State and La Cumbre ~4:45 PM Part of the issue of timing for bikes is manual laborers the Mexicans that work manual labor and those that get off at 4:30 in the afternoon. 27 October 2008 Pueblo and the Bike Coalition have been very strong in that emphasis. Ok...here we are after 4:30 but before the 5:00 quitting time for most white color white collar? workers. Where are the bicyclists? Looking west on State Street.

Bike Lanes State and La Cumbre looking east Looking east at the same time ~4:45 PM zero bikes. Today Monday 27 October 2008.

Bike Lanes Looking North on La Cumbre I wanted for a few minutes to be able to get a bike rider. He is in the shadows by the drive entrance to Spectrum Fitness Center. 27 October 2008....beautiful weather for bike riding.

Bike Lanes Looking south on La Cumbre This is looking south on La Cumbre road. About 5:00 PM on 27 October 2007 See the cars backed up waiting for the light to change. See the zero number of bike riders. (Kind of sounds like a nursery rhyme)
